Alongside our memberships and accreditations, The Meliora Group trains staff in Carbon Literacy programs and operates four carbon neutral HP Indigo Presses which utilise the Regenerated Imaging Oil (RIO) system to allow them to be self-sustainable in imaging oil usage.
We use a chemical free plate production method, and all our plates and wastepaper is recycled. In our lithographic presses we only utilise natural, compostable, and recyclable inks.
Investing in the very latest in technology allows us to be able to offer the choice of traditional dies but also where possible we can direct clients towards our laser cutting machine which eliminates the need for tooling and streamlines setup. In 2023, we also added a digital embellishment machine to our line up which reduces their overall CO2 emissions by 85%, fossil fuel use by 85% and water consumption by 80% per B1 sheet when compared to traditional foiling, giving our clients greater choice for sustainable options across the entire end-to-end printed packaging process.
We have also taken steps to improve the impact of our fleet by introducing hybrid and electric vehicles and in our office and factory spaces we have installed movement sensor LED lighting which should reduced our energy consumption by 73% year on year.
Environmental Packaging Awards 2024
Gold Winner
In June 2024, we were awarded the prestigious Gold Award in the Environmental Packaging Awards. These awards are not just about the final product but also the impact it has on the environment. They set the benchmark for what is achievable in eco-conscious packaging design and serve as an inspiration for the entire sector.
Receiving this award is a testament to the work our team does to assist our customers with their requirements for sustainable packaging. We strive to be not just a packaging printer but a packaging partner for our clients.
