Our Process
Working With Delga
-
Concept
Come to us with a concept, whether that be completed artwork, a sketch, or a scribble. We usually ask you to send us a sample of your product which we will use to create a CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawing of your packaging or label. It’s helpful to know your budget at this stage so that we can use this, alongside other information you have given us, to suggest materials, print processes, and finishes to achieve the desired result.
-
Estimate
An estimate is best generated when all the possibilities have been explored and only a few options remain. This means you get a more accurate representation of the final cost. But we also understand that you may need a ballpark figure in the early stages, and we provide estimates at both the earlier and later stages of the development process to take account of any changes to the design or production process that have occurred in the development stage.
-
Develop
We use our technical and creative expertise to provide practical, robust, innovative feedback to improve functionality. And, with decades of experience in print and finishing techniques, our pre-press graphic design services are available to assist with artwork if required. They will utilise their knowledge and expertise to suggest stunning effects to enhance your product packaging.
-
Design
To ensure that your artwork is ready to print, we ask everyone to adhere to our pre-press print-ready checklist, if anything doesn’t make sense, or you’re unsure, our pre-press team are on hand to provide advice and training when necessary.
Alongside traditional lithographic printing we also operate four HP Digital Indigo presses which lend themselves perfectly to lower quantities, multi-SKU requirements, variable data, personalisation. Explore the potential of HP Mosaic and Collage to create truly one of a kind printed packaging, alongside brands like Coca-Cola, Kit Kat, Nutella, Toblerone, and Tony’s Chocoloney. If you operate an eCommerce business, you may require authentication codes on your products such as Amazon Transparency codes which we can cater for with our digital print production.
We will always provide a cutter template to add artwork to and 3D visualisations and prototypes can be produced for review prior to committing to an order.
-
Order
At this stage we will hold an internal onboarding meeting to discuss all the relevant information relating to the complexities of the job, allowing us to share the correct information between departments to ensure we deliver on our promises and meet your expectations.
Before your order goes into production, we will provide proofs to check content and colour before the order is printed. These can be digital or wet proofs depending on your preference. -
Reality
Your order will be printed, embellished, cut to size, glued, and packed on the same site, in our manufacturing facility in the UK. Find out more about our services of lithographic printing, digital printing, colour management, laser cutting, digital embellishments, and structural packaging design, to explore how Delga can take your printed packaging from concept to reality.
